This is a portrait painted in the classic style. It was pre-selected for the RP exhibition at the Mall Galleries but did not make the final cut. It sold on the preview evening of a prestigious Yorkshire exhibition. The painting is set in a contemporary dark mahogany effect tray frame measuring 69cm x 48 cm overall x 35 mm deep. It comes in a black mount ready to frame for your room.. and measures 20cm x 15cm mounted.
Encaustic wax is a unique way of creating completely different paintings-- it is not 100% controllable -which makes it very interesting to work with..
I use an electric iron to melt the wax and 'paint' the picture using the iron. and love the unpredictable nature of it.
