Hares Meadow is a 40x40x1.5 inches oil painting on canvas of a yellow hare beside a meadow of trees and wildflowers. The style is contemporary art nouveau and is very colourful. The hare sits to the left and looks back at us. She is generously showing us a glimpse of her realm with its trees and flowers and possibilities and the idea of veils or curtains being drawn back makes it a little dreamlike. I have only ever seen one hare in real life and I was struck by how beautiful it was whilst at the same time being so strangely awkward. I can totally see why they often feature in fairy tales and legends about magic. The background of the painting has been blended and blurred whilst the foreground paint is thicker with more definite brushstrokes. This adds to the slightly ethereal feeling of it. Like all my artwork, it is a tribute to nature and an invitation to humans to cherish and protect it. It is dedicated to all those who are doing just this. It is painted on wide edge canvas, no frame needed, ready to hang, white edges.
Lively, fun and colourful painting, will have a striking effect on any wall, home or office definite conversational piece, I really enjoyed painting this. There is some added texture as is usual with my art . As with all abstract this painting can be hung anyway up to suit your preference and is signed on the reverse for this reason
What's not to like about this beautiful big cow? She'll nose her way right into your heart! The image is based on a real Holstein cow, but I wanted to play a little and bring out the fun I saw in her by adding some unusual colours to the palette. After all, if youre going to grace your walls with art it should at least make you smile, right? Painted in acrylics on a 50x70cm canvas ready to hang. All sides are painted, as per Gallery hanging requirements. The work is signed on the front, and a Certificate of Authenticity is included in the purchase.
Golden Poppy Heart
Contemporary painting of a poppy with a rich golden centre. The graduated maroon background sets off the textured poppy petals and makes this painting an ideal addition to any home! The painting continues round the edges of the frame making this ready for immediate hanging with no need for framing. The painting has been finished with a protective satin varnish.
Creation is a large 48x48x1.5 inches painting of the view through trees to a Sussex summer meadow with flowers and swallows. The style is art nouveau and contemporary and the colours are extremely bright and vibrant. The impression the painting gives is of a voyeuristic glimpse of a late summer meadow with an abundance of wild flowers in the foreground and the hint of wheat and grasses in the meadow behind. Two swallows swoop down from the left throwing transparent veils over the scene in a slightly spiral pattern as if they are creating the landscape or revealing it. In the far distance you can see a river on the horizon and an exit into the next field beyond. This painting was very much inspired by the river Rother near Burwash in Sussex in summer 2020 where I thrashed my way through tall grasses and flowers to watch the swallows gathering in the air around me ready to leave for Africa. It is always a slightly melancholy time as it means end of summer so I felt the urge to pay tribute to a lovely English landscape (yes despite a pandemic) and am satisfied I have caught a little of the energy and beauty that birds, flowers and nature bring to this world. The edges are dark green, no frame needed, ready to hang. If you want to find this place, go to the Bear Inn in Burwash and head north towards Stonegate
