Elemental - a sunset seascape with horses
A 36 x 48 x 1.5 inches large original oil painting of horses on a beach at sunset. It is called 'elemental' as the four horses are each running in a different direction and have power as the elements do. There is a suggestion of sunset or sunrise and waves rolling in on the sand with warm pink, orange and yellow clouds in the background. In the distance and from the horses themselves, there is another suggestion of electricity or lighting. The style is partly traditional and partly contemporary with carefully painted horses and then thick decorative layers of paint made in contrast to this. The intention of this painting is to make a representation of an explosive energy being unleashed rather than just being a pretty picture of horses on a beach. Not sure how well I succeeded but I had fun trying.

Starting Again - a solo fish under a blue ocean
40 x 40 x 1.5 inches large blue painting of an underwater seascape with a lone fish. The fish is swimming purposefully over the sandy seabed. Behind her is the deep blue water in the distance and above her the water rises to the aqua blues and turquoise colours near the surface of the water. Some of the sky can also be seen as well as gentle waves and lots of sparkles of light. On the surface of the seabed are the fleeting light patterns made by the sun as its beams are reflected around constantly by the movement of the restless water. The little tropical fish is happy in her space - intent on her own adventure in a big blue sea. I painted it as another in a series of lone fish paintings but each one is nevertheless different. This painting is for those people who are brave enough to go their own way despite what others may think. On deep edge canvas, white edges, no frame necessary.
This beautiful oil painting was inspired by some sunflowers that I had grown in my garden. I have captured their beauty in a wild natural state and yet it is also impressionistic. It has been hung in the Leeds City Art Gallery Open Exhibition. I have shown two photos of it, one of it unframed and one of it framed on the wall with some of my other paintings. It is painted on a 38 x 31 inches stretched canvas and is in a 1 1/2 x 1 inch light pine frame. It is also available unframed for £975.
"A La Chandelle (By Candle Light)
This is Claudine, a beautiful young lady of French Polynesian origin who, with her husband Armand, runs a marvellous little restaurant just off the chic (and very expensive) main street in the town of Aix-en-Provence in the south of France former home of Paul Cezanne. Their very reasonably priced restaurant is one for the gourmet and serves meals in a wonderfully romantic atmosphere enhanced by the mellow lighting from the candles hence the inspiration for this painting. The work is painted in oil on a stretched canvas and is set in a contemporary dark mahogany effect tray frame measuring 88 cm x 68 cm x 35mm overall. It is strung ready for immediate hanging.
