Timeless Meadow - An English Meadow in June
40 x 40 x 1.5 inches large original semi abstract oil painting of a Meadow in June in England. The painting gives a view across a hazy green field full of wildflowers. There are trees to the left through which you can see the hint of a lake and a suggestion of marsh flowers and a stream. Silver birch saplings can been seen further down the field. The flowers are pink and purple like foxgloves and there is a shimmering effect caused by thick vertical paint ridges. I have been walking around Mayfield and Wadhurst and this is my memory impression of the beautiful meadow's around those towns and the slightly dull but hot summer day's that we experience alot in England. Painted on deep edge canvas - edges white, no frame needed.
Still Life with Apple
This is a beautiful oil painting of a still life with a vase of flowers and a red apple which is painted on a canvas. It has a protective coat of varnish and is priced unframed as it can be hung without a frame if wished. It is also available in a 2" wide brown wooden frame with a gold inner line for £199. Please email me if you would like it framed.
Godrevy Light house (Built 1858-1859) From Hayle
Summer Dissolving is a 48x36x1.5 inches oil on canvas abstract landscape painting of a Sussex summer wildflower meadow with swallows. This painting was inspired by walking around in summer fields at the end of August near Pulborough in Sussex. The painting spans through dark outer edges of dark greens, blues and purples to give the appearance of zooming into a portal from another place. It shows a view across a field with very colourful abstract flowers and wheat fields through to trees and a glimpse of a lake in the background. To the left are three swallows flying swiftly over the flowers and merging in and out of the landscape casting patterns and wispy shapes that suggest motion and the transience of summer. The aim of the painting was to try and capture the feeling of how seasons slowly dissolve and transform into the next one. It is slightly sad as summer in England is very brief but very beautiful. It is painted on deep edge canvas, edges dark blue, no frame needed, ready to hang
The Field of Poppies
With this painting, I took from a photo on a card. This was one of my first boxed canvas oil paintings.I love the strong colours, reds and greens and the way the sun strikes a pose, blending in making its mark. This picture would sit nice on any wall, it's ready to hang, no framing needed.
The Back Road
A view up the back road. One of the few in the city that has not succumbed to being covered in tarmac as yet. It is painted in oils in a loose impressionistic manner on a box canvas measuring 8 x 8 x 1.5 inches with the painting continuing around the sides so no framing is required but it can be framed if you so desire.
Summer Harmony is a small landscape oil painting 24x18x1.5 inches on canvas of a summer meadow and flowers with a swallow. It is art nouveau and semi abstract in style and very vibrant in colour. A swallow hovers over the meadow to the left and below her there are fields of wheat with wild flowers edging the fields. This is part of a series of paintings that try to capture the exuberance of Sussex fields and farmland in the summertime. Swallows feature often in my paintings as they are quite simply beautiful little birds and are only in the UK for the summer so it is a happy thing to see them. The painting is ready to hang, has white edges and does not need a frame.
