Red King - a red stag in a red forest
A 36 x 48 x 1.5 inches large semi abstract original oil painting of a red stag in a red and yellow autumnal forest. The red stag looks at us having emerged from the trees. He wonders why we are there. Although he himself is bright red he is still fairly realistic but a crack in the scenery divides him from us and there are patterns around him that make the painting slightly abstract and art nouveau. As always the painting was inspired by the small glimpses I get of deer on my regular walks in Sussex. They are always slightly mystical and the glimpse is always fleeting but stays with me. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges white, frame not needed.
Green Boat at North Berwick
I walk a lot, here in North Wales. The old slate quarries are often visited. I like the how it looks, well parts of it. But I also look for the hidden colours, and try to bring those out. This is the side of cliff, where the slate was cut from, some 30 meters high. This is printed on Kodak pro endure gloss, under 6mm of acrylic glass, on a dibond backing. This a limited run of 20, even if it is printed on any other media or size, which I can offer, just contact me.
Leap of Faith
A gorgeous wildlife scene of Orca swimming through the ocean one leaping playfully out of the water. I did this piece as I love how the orca represent family as they stay in pods supporting each other as a family would, the blue/green ocean colours make the whales pop off the canvas and it would look fabulous on someone's wall ....it's the first "Orca" painting I have done and I know that I will be doing more in the future as I enjoyed painting them so much watch this space for more soon
LARGE ORIGINAL Oil Painting - Mythology - a unicorn in her woodland re
A 36 x 48 x 1.5 inches large semi abstract original oil painting of a vibrant autumn forest with unicorn. This painting was made with lots of warm luminous colours and is slightly art nouveau in style. The paint was blurred together to give it a slightly 3D effect. Among the trees a white horse can just about be seen with her tail intertwined in the flora and fauna of the forest. It is inspired by my own desire to find magical things. I find forests fascinating but also scary - just like most fairy tales. There is an atmosphere in trees that changes from woodland to woodland - quite strange. This woodland was inspired by Friston Forest in Sussex where mythical beats may well be glimpsed from time to time... Painted on deep edge canvas, edges white, frame not needed.
Shacks on Water
This is my interpretation of a photograph taken in the slums of Manila. What struck me about the photograph was the vast array of colours and materials which portrayed rightly or wrongly a very vibrant community. I was also captured by the contrast of the clean washing hung out to dry and the litter floating in the murky water below.
