Clifftop at sunset
Description:
This painting was inspired by a photo that I took when were on holiday last year. The as sunset and sea colours were beautiful and such a contrast to the dark rocks and crags of the cliffs. This oil painting is unframed but does not have to be as the painting is continued on the canvas sides.

Three Roses
Description:
Beautiful vibrant picture of three full blown English roses. I love flowers and this is painted using a variety of photos of roses blooming in my garden. It's nice to see some summer flowers on the wall when the days get darker. This is a square format, oil on canvas. The picture is not framed but continues onto the canvas sides so can be hung without in the modern style.

Pink Peonies
Description:
Flowers are one of my favourites subjects for their colours and delicacy together with their transient nature. This is based on the Peonies growing in my garden. The painting is of dreamy pink flowers surrounded by white daisies on a mauve/blue background. The painting is not framed but can be hung without as the painting is continued on the canvas sides. Spring Laburnums on the Preseli Hills
Description:
This is a painting of a photo that I took while driving across the mountain last spring.The laburnums are very prolific here and the contrast with the green landscape of fields and moore and the windswept clouds was gorgeous. The painting is in acrylic and is quite textured. It is not framed but the painting is continued on the canvas sides so it can be hung without one.

Sunset over the Welsh coast
Description:
This is a painting of the coast of Wales at sunset. The colours were spectacular. I took the photo while we were visiting north Wales and I loved the colours. The painting is oil on canvas and is not framed. It can be hung unframed because the painting continues on the canvas sides. The painting is fairly textured in an attempt to portray the rugged coast if North Wales.

Summer Dance over the Meadow
Description:
Summer Dance is a semi-abstract, art-nouveau style oil painting of a summer meadow with swallows dancing over it and forming patterns in the landscape. It is 24x18x1.5 inches. The painting was made after much walking around in meadows in Sussex during June and July watching swallows swooping and diving for the insects that gather over the wild flowers and trees. Swallows move so fast they are hard to keep track of and they tend leave patterns on the eyes (mine anyway) which adds to the feeling of energy that I tried to capture in this painting. An Awakening
Description:
An Awakening is an original oil painting of a female deer in a landscape of lakes, mountains and forests. It is 36x30x1.5 inches. The painting is in semi-abstract, art nouveau and totally unique in style. A female fallow deer stands to the left having emerged from the trees with the hint of a lake and mountains beyond her. Vertical layering of transparent golden paint glazes makes the scene shimmer and reflect different colours when viewed at different angles which gives it a jewel like quality. The deer looks as if she is wondering about her life. A nice idea, although she is probably just wondering what to eat next, but I liked the idea that she could dream as humans do (and how do we know she canât?...) Echoes of Summer is an expressive art nouveau style oil painting showing the echoes of swallows in the corner of a meadow. It is 35.5x47x0.5 inches (120x90x1.5cm) semi abstract, decorative and vibrantly coloured. The painting shows elegantly placed trees and flowers with the outlines of swallows diving over them. Finding a Melody
Description:
Finding a Melody is a vibrantly coloured abstract style oil painting in magical realism style. It is 40x30x1.5inches. The overlapping layers of paint and glazes give this painting an energy and movement which reveals different colours and aspects as the light around it changes. I felt I could hear music as a painted it and it does actually remind me of sheet music â hence the title! Although it stands between abstract and realism, it is still a woodland scene with trees and flowers and a stream or pond hinted at. A small deer stag can be seen watching from the other side of the stream. The colours are placed so that they will complement each other and the vertical lines give the feel of something transcending.
