Privy Garden
Description:
This acrylic painting was composed and painted in 4 hours as a wild card artist entry which was featured in Sky Landscape Artist of the Year Heat 1, Episode 1, Series 10 aired on 22nd January 2025. It was painted in the Privy Garden in Hampton Court Palace on a scorching hot day in late June 2024 when the heat was filmed. The view of the entire palace and privy gardens would have been too much to paint in 4 hours so I chose to paint an abstract view with certain features of the palace and gardens including a prominent statue which is the focus of the painting.

An old Great Western Railway Train in the sidings at the end of a smokey London day. An impressionist-style watercolour painted in 3 colours: raw sienna, cadmium red and french ultramarine. Signed and dated by the artist. This painting comes already framed in a 70mm high quality mount (charcoal inner 5mm and cream outer 65mm). The frame is dark oak with an inner gold trim.
