The White Horse Portal
Description:
The White Horse Portal is a large shimmering red and green, summertime and white horse inspired landscape painting. It is a 36x36x1.5 inches oil on canvas. The style is semi-abstract and ethereal. The painting shows a white horse looking out over a hazy abstracted landscape that hints of hills, trees, sea and summer trees. In the foreground are art-nouveau style poppies contrasted against a curtain of green foliage. A portal shows the mare and the clearing she stands in. The painting was made by layering transparent paint so that the verticals of it seem to shimmer and shift around a little as you look at it. The inspiration was a recent walk along the cliffs and hills and woodland glades of Dorset which are a little fairy tale-like in places. I did not add a unicorn as that is going too far but I think the white mare was the next best thing. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, no frame needed and ready to hang. Comes with certificate of authenticity.

One Enchanted Summer
Description:
One Enchanted Summer is a multicoloured semi-abstract landscape painting of a summer meadow with trees and swallows. It is 48x36x1.5 inches. The painting looks entirely abstract from a distance as a myriad of colours burst outwards from the middle of the canvas in pinks, greens, purples, deep blues and yellows. When you look closer however, you see that there are two dancing swallows and pink wildflowers against a backdrop of dark trees with hints at fields beyond them through gaps in the branches. The inspiration for this painting was exploring the many nooks and crannies of the Mayfield and Burwash areas of East Sussex where the viewpoints change swiftly from the streams in the gullies to the rolling hills and small meadows and ancient trees shaped by sheep and deer and old houses and farms that retain their medieval flavour. I often feel I could come across portals to other worlds and enjoy this fantasy as I walk. I think I have conveyed this feeling well in this painting! Painted on deep edge canvas (edges painted to match the painting), ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity.

The Owls Symphony
Description:
The Owls Symphony is a semi-abstract, art nouveau, magical realism style oil painting of a white owl with a flower meadow behind her. It is 36x30x1.5 inches. The Owl is a white barn owl and she glides over the meadow in that mysterious way that owls do. There are sinuous lines of white energy flowing out from her which echo the movements she is making with her silent wings. She is a beautiful predator. The background is blurred and hints at a summer meadow with wildflowers and trees at the edge of the field. The owl is painted in thick paint to further emphasize the contrast between her and the background. She appears to float on the canvas in an act of classic owl gracefulness. This painting is a tribute to wildlife and birds everywhere â they never cease to make me happy when I come across them on one of my walks. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges white. No frame is needed and it is ready to hang. Comes with certificate of authenticity from the artist

Summer Fading
Description:
Summer Fading is a golden green abstract landscape with a white egret beside a small river with pink wildflowers. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. A white egret can be seen on the left rising out of the hidden river she was fishing in. Behind her are pink riverside flowers and beyond those you can see the glow of a golden field and shimmering trees. In the foreground you can see abstracted lines of an emerald green field. This is an actual moment of time I painted recently where I came across a startled egret by a small river. You canât see the river because of the angle but you can see the bird stretching her wings to fly out of it. The background is a golden green which helps to give this sultry abstract landscape an end of the summer type feeling â hence the title. I like to capture moments of time in natureâs cycles and this is a tiny snapshot of a little drama I enjoyed. Dedicated to all the farmers and conservationists who plant wild flowers at the edges of their fields and beside rivers. Painted on deep edge canvas, golden green edges, ready to hang and no frame needed. Comes with certificate of authenticity.

The Green Kings Glade
Description:
The Green Kings Glade is a green semi-abstract oil painting of a deer stag behind a green curtain that hints of a green forest glade. It is 36x30x1.5 inches. The deer stands in the centre whilst around him you see a sea of green and the hint if trees and branches. The deer is not always easy to see as the painting has texture and facets to it that can change with the light. At night it glows emerald green and in sunlight you see the stag and a clearing which gives it a magical fairy tale like feeling. The green king is a character who often appears in British folklore as does the symbol of a stag. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, no frame needed, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity and gifts from the artist.

In His Element
Description:
In His Element is a vibrant semi abstract oil painting of a peacock blending into in a magical bluebell wood. It is 36x30x1.5 inches. The peacock is looking to his right under the green spring woodland trees. His tail is spread out around him and is sinking into the lush carpet of bluebells. His colours match the scene beautifully which is why he is in his element. The painting style is semi abstract, slightly art nouveau and is depicted in an exuberant, loose and blurry way so that it seems to shimmer. The vertical layers and lines are like a curtain that present different aspects of the same scene simultaneously. The concept of the painting was simply the idea of seeing a peacock in a bluebell wood. I would like to see it! Peacocks, for me, represent something exotic and gorgeous and strange and bluebells are equally exotic and gorgeous and strange. Painted on 3D canvas, edges white, ready to hang, no frame needed.

The Final Gift of Summer
Description:
The Final Gift of Summer is a beautifully mellow river bank painting with swallows and a tangle of wild flowers. It is a 30x30x1.5 inches. The style is semi abstract and composed of many overlapping transparent layers in full vibrant rainbow colours. To the left are the deep greens, blues, purples and turquoise of trees in shadow and behind them you can see the glittering sun in the bend of the river. To the right is a view across a mass of summer flowers and the hint of fields and trees and hills in the background with a single dwelling. Two swallows are dancing around on the left gathering insects ready for their long flight south. This painting was inspired by a walk one August day on the South Downs near the river Arun. The feeling was a little sad as I always miss the swallows when they leave. I tried to capture the gorgeous melancholy of the end of summer and there is a definite mood to this painting that hints of the end of something and the beginning of something new⦠Dedicated to all those people working to keep Sussex and its wildlife safe and beautiful. Painted on deep edge canvas, ready to hang, no frame needed.
