Dorset Calling
Description:
Dorset Calling is a panoramic oil painting of a glimpse of the Dorset coastline seen through blossom and brambles. It is 48x24x1.5 inches. The painting was inspired by a trip to Dorset in April 2025 and captures my enthusiasm on being there for the first time. The brambles were in flower and I like the poetry of seeing the enticing blue sea, coastline and countryside through their tangled barrier. A lone seagull can be seen and there is a hint of farmland and cliff edge and springtime flowers. It was painted in thick jubilant brush strokes and relies heavily on memory in order to better capture the feeling of joy I experienced there. Painted on deep edge canvas, painted to match, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity

The Hares Summer Song
Description:
The Hares Summer Song is a large vibrantly coloured semi-abstract landscape painting of a hare among red poppies with a pale summer moon above her. It is 36x36x1.5 inches. The painting was inspired by sightings of hares in the meadows near the South Downs one June. There is a magical aspect to hares and there is a lot of folklore surrounding them which is why when I spotted one, I felt like I was in a fairy story. Especially as she sat in a wildflower meadow with a pale moon above. I believe there is magic in nature and there is magic in the ancient landscapes of England which is something I try to capture when I paint based on a memory of somewhere. The style is semi-abstract art nouveau and was made by building glazes and texture which reflect different colours thought out the day. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges white, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity

A Symphony of Horses
Description:
A Symphony of horses is a semi-abstract purple oil painting of three Arabian horses. It is 36x36x1.5 inches. The three pale dappled horses are positioned in the centre of the canvas with one looking questioningly back at the viewer and the other two looking right and left. The background is purple and the horses are pale whites and greys with dots and flashes of orange making interesting contrasts. The inspiration for it was simply a celebration of the beauty of horses and these horses are moving as if part of a dance or to some kind of equine symphony. They are going somewhere and the invitation is to follow⦠Painted on deep edge canvas, edges purple, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity

Dissolving Dream
Description:
Dissolving Dream is a large textured abstract landscape oil painting about frustration and hope. The painting shows a dream house glimpsed through dark tangled trees. It is heavily textured in a dark iridescent green background. At first glance, it is completely abstract with lines and curves and spots of bright colour directing the eye around the painting. In one small section to the left, you can see an old English house with bright sunlight illuminating one side of it. There is also the hint of a stream and a field or flowers beyond. The painting represents a long-term dream of mine to live in a beautiful house in the countryside. I suspect the ship may have sailed on that dream so that is why it is both a hopeful painting and a wistful one. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges painted to match, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity

White Hart Rising
Description:
White Hart Rising is semi abstract contemporary oil painting of a white deer stag against a green and rainbow coloured abstract background. It is 30x30x1.5 inches. The inspiration for the painting is spotting fallow deer in the Sussex area. Deer look like ethereal creatures to me anyway but a white deer is even more so. In folklore deer are often revered as spirit guides or messengers and it is interesting how this idea crosses so many cultures. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges green, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity.

The November Jewel
Description:
The November Jewel is a semi-abstract style panoramic landscape painting of a winter river and kingfisher. It is 48x24x1.5 inches. The painting shows fields and trees on either side of a small river. The colours are white rust, salmon, lilac, brown and green contrasted with the brilliant magical blue of a small kingfisher. Vertical transparent lines add a shimmering ethereal feel to the scene which is both realistic and abstract at the same time. This painting was made after a cold winter walk along a Sussex river where I was delighted to see three kingfishers in different stretches of the river. They looked like beautiful blue jewels against the muted frosty river â hence the title. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges painted to match, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity.

The Autumn Portal
Description:
The Autumn Portal is a large otherworldly oil painting of an autumn forest path being revealed though a veil. It is 60x36x1.5 inches. The painting is large enough so that when you stand before it you are drawn along the path until it descends serenely into the distance. Anything you can dream of could be just round that bend. The trees on each side are in autumn colours of orange, magentas, yellows and greens. Some are defined and some are almost abstract. Shades of violet and faded purples play off against the vivid yellows. A low November sun sends beams of light through from the right casting tree shadows across the path and into the deeper woodland on the left. There is a mystery to the painting and the inference is that there is a portal here that may lead elsewhere. It was inspired by recent walks by the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex where Autumn of 2025 was especially vibrant and almost fairy tale in in natureâs last big statement of the year. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges painted to match, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity

Beautiful Heralds
Description:
Beautiful Heralds is a large glowing seascape painting showing sun, sea and sky and arriving swallows. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The three swallows are delicately painted in contrast to the beaming sun and clouds behind them and the waves rippling to the shore below them. This is another in series of tributes painted to my favourite birds - catching the moment they arrive from further south to make more swallows in the UK. It is a serene and joyous celebration of the continuation of life and the lengths that nature will go to simply survive. The colours are muted by liberal use of thick white paint but are mostly pale buttery yellow, light blue and lilac. The colours of the swallows reflect the colours seen in the sea and sky. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges white, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity.

Farewell Swallows
Description:
Farewell Swallows is a large original oil painting of two swallows in a semi-abstract English countryside landscape. It is 36x36x1.5 inches. The painting shows a tree lined country lane with a hint of the landscape in the far distance that the road is travelling to. The sun is filtering through the trees from the left casting dappled shadows on the track. Two swallows have burst through the trees moving impossibly fast as swallows do. The painting is an actual place in East Sussex. I took a walk there in September where I watched the swallows fattening up on insects in midair just prior to their long trip south. The lane goes down to the Ouse river valley and gentle hills around Lewes. To the right, if you were standing in this exact spot, you would see Seaford Head on the English south coast and Lewes castle off to the left. I painted the scene deliberately recognizable and yet a little odd as this better reflects the beautiful timelessness and otherworldliness of some of the areas I walk in. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges white, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity.

The Winter Monarchs
Description:
The Winter Monarchs is a large white oil painting in semi-abstract art nouveau style of two deer, a stag and a doe, in a winter landscape. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. Two deer stand looking imperiously at the viewer. The female is as proud as the male and it is easy to imagine them as monarchs in the way that they are posing as if for a formal portrait. Deer have this ability to look scared, slightly annoyed and defiant all at the same time once they see you and will try to out stare you if they can. The inspiration for the painting is simply me wanting to capture the beauty of red deer, especially when you see them in the snow and ice of winter as you can in Scotland. It was made using many layers of paint with very thick impasto white paint to add texture as the final layer. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges white, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity. #deer #winter #white #white painting.
