Out Of This World
Description:
Out Of This World is a white, neutral toned, magical realism painting with barn owls and deer. It is 48x48x1.5 inches. The painting shows two transparent barn owls gliding through a woodland clearing with rows of deer observing them from beneath the trees. There is a hint of a lake and snow and the colour is predominately white with pale peach, gold, blues and lilacs. The inspiration was the feeling I get sometimes when entering a woodland and the atmosphere changes â as if nature holds her breath whilst I trespass though her domain. The Autumn Portal
Description:
The Autumn Portal is a large otherworldly oil painting of an autumn forest path being revealed though a veil. It is 60x36x1.5 inches. The painting is large enough so that when you stand before it you are drawn along the path until it descends serenely into the distance. Anything you can dream of could be just round that bend. The trees on each side are in autumn colours of orange, magentas, yellows and greens. Some are defined and some are almost abstract. Shades of violet and faded purples play off against the vivid yellows. A low November sun sends beams of light through from the right casting tree shadows across the path and into the deeper woodland on the left. There is a mystery to the painting and the inference is that there is a portal here that may lead elsewhere. It was inspired by recent walks by the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex where Autumn of 2025 was especially vibrant and almost fairy tale in in natureâs last big statement of the year. Autumn Beckons
Description:
Autumn Beckons is an expressive, semi-abstract original oil painting of an Autumn path. It is 36x36x1.5 inches. The painting focuses on the centre of the painting where light is radiating out beneath the trees. It hints at revelation or hope or some kind of promise â or at least that is what it says to me! The painting was inspired by actual autumn walks in an around the Ashdown Forest (of Winnie the Pooh fame) and the Weald of Sussex where there are plenty of woodlands and copses and nooks and crannies that I never tire of exploring in different seasons. Spring Laburnums on the Preseli Hills
Description:
This is a painting of a photo that I took while driving across the mountain last spring.The laburnums are very prolific here and the contrast with the green landscape of fields and moore and the windswept clouds was gorgeous. The painting is in acrylic and is quite textured. It is not framed but the painting is continued on the canvas sides so it can be hung without one.

Echoes of Summer is an expressive art nouveau style oil painting showing the echoes of swallows in the corner of a meadow. It is 35.5x47x0.5 inches (120x90x1.5cm) semi abstract, decorative and vibrantly coloured. The painting shows elegantly placed trees and flowers with the outlines of swallows diving over them. Under Sea Rebel
Description:
Under Sea Rebel is a large blue and turquoise underwater seascape painting of a queen angel fish in a pristine Caribbean Sea. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The fish swims along intent on her goal and above her you can see the swirling surface of the rippling waves. Below her are the patterns of light that reflect from their motion across a sandy seabed. Behind the fish is the darker blue of deeper water in the distance. This painting was inspired by a recent Aruba holiday where I often saw this actual fish swimming around a particular jetty. I like the idea of the freedom she had if she could only continue to escape the tourists and fishermen. This is another in a series of underwater paintings inspired by the sheer beauty of a blue sea and the fish that live in it. Coastal Calm
