Exuberance, summer landscape with swallows
Description:
Exuberance is a 36x30x1.5 inches oil painting of a vibrant summer landscape with swallows inspired by the South Downs in Sussex. It was made after a walk I took near Selmeston when the swallows were swooping over the flowers and corn fields. It was a warm day and the air was full of birds and insects and flower seeds and the sights and scents of July were in full performance. The background of the painting, including the sides of the canvas, are dark green blue and the thicker paint towards the centre shows the scene exploding out of the canvas as if it arriving from another universe. This is because summer in countryside feels that way to me. It is transient and loud and quite magical and so I have tried to show the effect it has when you receive so much information to your senses all at once! This painting is dedicated to everyone who assists the South Downs environment and its nature to remain unspoilt. Painted on deep edge canvas, ready to hang, no frame needed, comes with a certificate of authenticity.

The Peacocks Secret
Description:
The Peacocks Secret is a large semi-abstract oil painting of a peacock in a secret garden by a lake in late summer. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. Wildflowers edge the lake and the peacock sits on a branch to one side allowing us a glimpse of the garden he presides over â almost as if he has pulled back a curtain for us. On the opposite bank you can see a field of wheat and trees and a path in the distance beyond. The painting is art nouveau in style and very vibrant, colourful and magical as a landscape. It was inspired by a walk I took in Wadhurst area a few years back where I came across a clump of trees in the middle of a massive field of corn where I could hear a peacock calling. It turned out there was a house and garden there completely hidden except for the track that led to it through the field. I spent quite some time listening to the peacock and getting glimpses through the fence of the lake and the paradise of garden and flowers inside. It became dream-like for me and I have now painted it a few times. I used many layers of colour and some gold paint and pearlescent blues on the peacock so that he glitters a little and due to the multilayers of colours, they change throughout the day in an intriguing way. Videos of the making of this painting can be seem on my YouTube channel. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges white, ready to hang, no frame needed

Landscape 3p.m.
Description:
A surrealist painting loosely based on Constable's Haywain or to give it its original title "Landscape Noon". I decided to move the clock on a few hours to afternoon tea time 3p.m. with the pots and the jug an attempt to suggest Willy Lott's cottage and the teapot in the water with the red teabag tags reminiscent of the red harnesses on the horses in the original painting. It is painted in oils on a stretched canvas and is ready for you to frame.
