Artist Biography:
Based in South Wales, Martyn has been a keen amateur artist since school and studied art at A level, before leaving to pursue a career in the financial sector. He says he’s cured of all that now and with retirement not that far away, wants to devote more time to painting. He was inspired to take it up again by his wife, Kim, who when watching a Bob Ross program told him that ‘he should have a go at that’, after seeing him paint life-sized emulsion murals on the bare walls of each house they had lived in. She went out and bought him a start-up kit to get him going and he hasn’t looked back.
Martyn loves outdoor life and the vast majority of his paintings are inspired by some of of his fishing trips and the stunning places that only anglers often see; many in beautiful South Wales. Hence the amount of water shown in his paintings! He has also done paintings from landscape photographs that his daughter took of memorable places she visited in her six months in NZ and Oz.
If you see any paintings you like that may be already sold or reserved please contact me and I will be happy to do something similar. Also if you have any favourite holiday landscape or seascape photos that you would like to have 'immortalised' in oils, I will be happy to paint them for you. No obligation to buy, only if you are happy with the end result. |
