About The Artist
I have been painting for approximately 25 years and live on the Isle of Seil in Argyllshire, Scotland.
As an artist I am inspired by the drama of the Scottish weather, the ancient landscapes, rolling seas and ever changing light. Some of my paintings are semi abstract representations of places that inspire me such as the River Awe , the Argyllshire coast and the Highlands of Scotland.
At present I am exhibiting some of my works at the Ben Nevis Summer Exhibition in Fort William until June 4th 2011.
Why not go along and take a look.
I work mainly in acrylic paints finding their luminosity captures the abstract qualities I associate with the Scottish landscape and seasons. However, I also enjoy working in watercolour.
My hobbies include walking, cycling, cooking and family life.
When not painting,I enjoy the company of my husband and 3 grandchildren. I also enjoy going to France in the summer months in the motorhome.
Helen's artworks hang in private collections across the UK, Europe, USA, Australia and Asia.
