Artist Biography:
I attended art college in my teens before going
on to study theology and psychology at university. I never lost my passion for painting and I began to paint decorative pieces and produce work for craft fairs.
Painting slowly took over and I now work full time mainly to commission but when I do not have any custom work on the go I like to paint still life, nudes and atmospheric landscapes. The colours I use reflect my love of theatre and circuses. I stage photos of flowers and life models in my studio using very theatrical coloured lighting which can give them a very dramatic and sensual appearance. Painting flowers is a particularly relaxing and meditative process in which I can easily lose track of time. I also paint landscapes from sketches I make on days out and from back up photos but also from dreams and memories of real and imagined places.
My figurative and nude work are mainly exhibited seperately but a few are now listed here.
