About The Artist

Artist Biography:
Born in London and brought up by the great artist Cyril Hamersma who would take me to his exhibitions (pictured above at the Victoria Embankment circa 1956) and give me encouragement to create throughout my life. I took formal training in Art & Design in East Anglia, late 60s, and went on to use it in careers involving teaching and writing.
I now work as an artist full time and tend to paint about two pictures a week but that is too generalised as I will be tweaking many more and be thinking about new work, planning projects and writing too.
Everything I do is a one-off because I cannot do the same thing twice but if you see something that is sold and you wish you had bought it, get in touch as I might be able to help.

Artist News/Exhibitions:
My work sells frequently from Mearns Arthouse in Stonehaven where I ensure there is a changing display of seascapes. I also exhibit a variety of work in regular shows around my home town in North East Scotland. I have taken part in NEOS (North East Open Studios) many times and I’m a member of the Scottish Artists Union.

CURRENTLY RUNNING my MAJOR SOLO EXHIBITION in Montrose Library exhibition room, 214 High Street, Montrose, Angus DD10 8PH Come along to see my latest and best work in the flesh (so to speak) Open daily except Sundays and Bank Holidays until 31st May.
