I was born on the Scottish west coast island of Islay and worked as a Health Visitor and Midwife in many areas of Scotland. After retiring I was able to focus on my love of art particularly in mixed media felt paintings and i was inspired by the work of Moy Mackay. I have attended several workshops run by Moy in Scotland and Spain to learn more about this media. I was very fortunate to be brought up in a beautiful island environment and I try to capture the stunning scenery in my paintings. I love working with brightly coloured wool I find the vibrant colours particularly inspiring .Through my paintings I try to capture the subject matter with brilliant colour and unique texturing that various media offer by adding silk threads crystal beads etc. I also sew a tiny gold heart in all my work. I like the viewer to enjoy my paintings and i try to offer them a unique individual therapeutic journey .
