Description: 'The Scream' depicts a scene which could be found on any beach on Britain's coast that still retains an inshore fishing industry. A tangled mass of ropes, floats, nets, fish boxes and other discarded paraphernalia. A seagull is perched on top screaming out to sea while a cat yawns and stretches nonchalantly. The different textures and intricate details of the main elements in this scene took a great many hours to reproduce, based on a photograph taken by a friend, while the shack and surroundings were created from my imagination. Measuring about 20.5 x 13.5 inches, it is presented in an antique white mount within a rich yew frame with gilt sight edge to a total size of approximately 30 x 23 inches, ready to hang.
