Description: This is another large one and makes such a dramatic statement in my studio now that it's framed and hung. An original graphite pencil drawing on Strathmore 400 series paper depicting a pair of male African lions. My reference photograph was taken by Rachael Thorne and used with her kind permission. The Strathmore paper used is a new experience for me and handles similarly to my more usual Stonehenge paper, allowing the artist to exploit different textures and subjects with great tonal variation and giving the opportunity to portray intricate detail without looking too overworked. Measuring approximately 20 x 12 inches, this piece has been bevel mounted and framed in an antiqued silver gilt frame to a total size of about 28 x 20 inches, ready to hang.
