Artist Biography:
Hi, so glad to be back at affordable british art.
My name is June Green and I'm a self taught artist and calligrapher. Before my children were born I was employed by a wedding photographer as a freelance calligrapher, now the children are grown I have concentrated on different aspects of art.
I work in acrylic, but now specialize in fantasy Encaustic Wax paintings. I recently took a brief time away from affordable british art to do some commissions for a gallery in salt lake city Utah, but now I'm back and have some even better ideas !
My paintings have sold worldwide; Canada, Holland, Germany, France and especially in America, not forgetting the U.K !
Encaustic Wax:
This is the medium in which I work. Encaustic means to 'burn in', and my wax paintings are created using a hot iron and stylus with pigmented wax blocks, and a bit of imagination !
Encaustic Wax is a very old art form and dates back to the ancient egyptians, greeks and romans and they're still some of their works in museums (yes they last that long).
Encaustic Wax will not melt on your wall however, as it takes extreme heat to create these paintings.
Wax paintings should ideally be framed under glass for best protection and quality.Please hang out of direct sunlight. |
