Purple Misty Mountains
A peaceful misty mountain scene in relaxing purples. This painting will provide a focal point for any room. The painting continues round the edges of this standard edge canvas so it is ready to hang with no need for framing. This creates a very simple but effective style. This painting has been finished with a protective satin varnish.
This is West Highland White Terrier. I tried to capture the mischievous look in his eyes and playful pose, typical for young animals. It is painted on canvas using gouache. The picture measures: 24cm x 30cm. Framing not necessary, ready to hang. This picture has a visible copyright protection which is not on the original artwork. Please feel free to email me for commission work of your pet or any queries you may have.
Three Red Poppies
Contemporary painting of three red poppies set against a white background. I have textured the background with swirls of cream and coffee to set off the bright red petals of the poppies and to create a modern style. This is a simple and clean picture that would suit any living space. This painting is on standard edge canvases and has been finished with a protective satin varnish.
Midnight Snow Hares
Part of my new series of paintings called Into The Light.I am painting a wide variety of sizes This one is 20cm x 20cm. Ideal for anybody who loves hares! Painted in acrylic using some lovely shades of blues , snow is gently starting to fall and the hares are under the tree watching it! What you can't see in the painting is the beautiful twinkling stars that catch the light. The photo does not do this painting justice! The sides are painted and it has been varnished to protect it..
White Winter Monarchs
White Winter Monarchs is a 40x40x1.5 inches large white original oil painting with deer and an owl in a snow covered winter forest. A big red deer stag stands to the left next to a pine tree and behind him is a doe. Over to the right flying between the trees is a white barn owl. The scene is set in a woodland clearing where thick snow lies on the ground leading though a patch of tall thin pine and birch trees. There is an exit in the middle of the painting that the creatures can lead you to or turn you away from. Both deer and owls are often found in folklore and are often credited with being spiritual guides or purveyors of wisdom. I am not sure of the truth of this but they are nevertheless beautiful creatures and do add something spiritual to landscapes. This painting is semi abstract and contemporary in style and began its life as an autumn landscape with deer. Now, however, it is a winter one as I wanted to mute down the oranges of autumn to make a white painting. Painted on wide edge canvas, white edges, no frame needed, ready to hang.
The Chalk Path
The Chalk Path is an oil painting of a winding white chalk path through the Sussex countryside in springtime. It is 30x30x1.5 inches and was painted from my memory as I recalled a walk up the South Downs near Ditchling last spring. The path winds through fields and meadows and wildflowers up towards the ridge of hills that make up the Downs in the distance. There is a pink and purple blossom tree on the left among the hedgerows and gorse bushes. The edges of the painting are blended and blurred and the centre of it has bigger and bolder brush strokes to give the feeling of looking into a memory and drawing you into the landscape. One of the things that makes me love paintings is the fact that you can be somewhere else in an instant when you look at one. I liked being here and I am happy that I have captured a moment of my life that I loved and hopefully will make a few other people happy too. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang.
