She Dreams, a deer abstract
Description:
She Dreams is a painting of a delicate female fallow deer in a semi-abstract landscape. It is 36x30 inches. The deer stands to the left having just emerged from a birch wood. There is a lake and mountains behind her and the sun above. The style is semi-abstract art nouveau but the deer is realistic against her magical landscape. The colours range through golden yellow, orange, pink, purples and white. Though I know deer may not be deep thinkers, they are, nevertheless, beautiful and mysterious animals and have the ability to enchant me no matter how often I come across them. This painting was inspired by a little deer I found half way up a hill last summer. She stood and stared at me for 2 minutes until finally vanishing into a patch of woodland. Oil on canvas, deep white edges, no frame needed, comes with certificate of authenticity.

Autumn Magic
Description:
Autumn Magic is a large semi abstract autumn inspired oil painting which shows a glowing path through vibrantly coloured autumn trees. It has a magical and enticing feeling to it. It is 60x36x2 inches. The painting was made after many walks I took in and around Sussex during November 2023. The sun is low at this time of year and the beams of light shine through at an angle onto the greens, golds, magentas and oranges of the leaves casting everything around with a magical sheen. The feeling of the end of the path is of a revelation about to made and I hope I captured the sense of anticipation about what might be around the next bend in the path⦠(feel free to add what you think should be there).

The Thin Place Beckons
Description:
The Thin Place Beckons is a very large semi-abstract original oil painting showing deer gathering beyond a lake in a heart shaped forest at twilight. It is 48x48x1.5 inches. It was made with liberal amounts of white, golden yellow, peach and purple paint with cyan blue for accent. The inspiration was the definition of the word âthin placeâ which is a Celtic expression for a place that stands between two universes. This is an idea I have always loved and the deer appear often in my paintings as in other folklore they are regarded as harbingers or guides between worlds. Because the paint is multilayered and oil colours do change quite dramatically in different light, (something that delighted me when I saw it in this painting), it will go from muted neutral colours to luminous sunset ones at different times of the day. I am satisfied I caught some of the magic I was trying to catch in this painting and hope that whoever buys it will have magic too. Painted on deep edge canvas, wide edges, painted white, ready to hang and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Midsummer Witness, summer meadow
Description:
Midsummer Witness is a large square oil painting in semi-abstract, magical realism style, of a summer meadow with a tiny roe deer hidden among the thistles and flowers. It is 40x40 inches. This painting was inspired by a walk I took in July when the flowers were purple and the grasses were golden. I was near the Medway river and as I walked through the field I spotted a tiny roe deer who stood and watched me without any fear (unlike the fallow deer who run away quite fast). His face was mask-like and he looked like a pagan spirit revelling in the beautiful abundance of a midsummer meadow. The countryside in Sussex is magical to me, at any time, but the appearance of this imperious little deer made it more so. The combination of colours is subtle and English people everywhere will recognize the muted tones of a typical, not very sunny, summerâs day. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang, no frame needed. It comes with a certificate of authenticity and gifts form the artist. Videos or more pictures/close ups can be sent on request and visits to view the painting are welcome.

A Day in December
Description:
A Day in December is a large oil painting of a pheasant in a winter woodland. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The painting is impressionistic, art nouveau and contemporary in style and is a capture of a day I spent in December last year in Friston Forest near Seaford. Autumn was very late and there were still leaves on the trees but the sun was very low so all kinds of interesting colours were circulating between warm and cold under the tree cover and this is what I wanted to catch. The pheasant is just a gorgeous twit who looked perfect in the composition as he contains the colours around him and is very much a part of the landscape. This particular part of the forest is a favourite of mine as still retains a faintly ethereal and magical quality. Dedicated to everyone who works to keep the South Downs landscapes and wildlife unmolested. Painted on deep edge canvas, no frame needed, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity.

Leopard On The Rocks
Description:
This was my first lockdown painting which was created in a very confined space, but was well worth the effort in recreating the calculating look from this elegant and powerful animal. Interpreted from a wonderful photo, this exposes her beautiful, detailed markings as she chills on the rocks in the shade from the sun.
Painted in oils on boxed canvas so no need to frame.

resin geode lotus flower, coaster, trinket tray, rolling tray, jewelle
Description:
Beautiful geode style lotus flower coaster. The front is textured to resemble a geode, and catches the light beautifully. The reverse is smooth and can be used as a small rolling tray. Size is 6 x 5 inches.
These are hand made, so each is unique. The edges are finished in liquid gold or silver leaf, according to colour selections, or left plain if I feel that works better. If they are plain and you wish for them in silver or gold I'm always happy to change them at no extra cost. They are resistant to heat to 70-80 degrees.
They come presented in a gift bag. Postage to mainland UK is free. I'm happy to post abroad for additional cost. Buyer will need to check tax position and pay any additional taxes.
All coasters are handmade by myself, in my Norfolk art studio. I can create coasters in custom colour combinations on request. These will take 3-4 weeks as the resin needs to cure over that period. Simply drop me a message.
