This painting has been painted onto a staple free cicular canvas measuring 40cm in diameter. The sides are all painted. The painting is based on the Welsh coast where we have spent many happy days and evenings. I have used shades of purple, mauve, pinks and creams with the rocks and grass in black-silhouetted against the sky and water. The water has been created using a special metallic paint that shimmers and catches the light. The painting is varnished and ready to hang. The price includes p+P in the UK -if you are outside the UK please get in touch for detail. reduced by £60 25% of all sales are being donated towards the O'Connor Cancer Unit at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital where my son Jim is being treated..
Family tree seemed an apt name for this painting- it shows a daddy tree, a mummy tree and a small baby tree all together in a snowy landscape painting! I have used prussion blue with a touch of black for the coldness-the bright white snow stands out lovely against it. The sides have not been painted but can be if required at no extra charge-it can also be framed in a black frame for an extra charge of £15. Softly Awakes My Heart II ( Mon cur s'ouvre à ta voix )
Softly Awakes My Heart II (Mon cur s'ouvre à ta voix) - this is the second painting in the series. As I was painting this seascape, I was listening to my favourite aria....Softly Awakes My Heart, from Saint-Saëns' opera Samson and Delilah, sung by Marilyn Horne. Such a soft and beautiful love song sung by Delilah to Samson....and the painting just seemed to emerge from the quiet passion of the song..........and this is reflected in the quiet beauty of the painting. It really is a soft and soothing painting...and would sit well in either a modern or a traditional setting.
